ALL ABOUT YVES: Four years after his death, the fascination with Yves Saint Laurent shows no sign of waning. The late couturier will be the subject of an upcoming film, directed by Jalil Lespert, focusing on his love affair with his partner of 50 years, Pierre Bergé. A spokeswoman for the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation said Bergé has granted the project his approval, but she declined to provide any further details.
Director Bertrand Bonello is said to be working on a separate YSL movie focusing on the brand’s launch and heyday in the Sixties, but Bergé has not given that undertaking his blessing. The businessman previously granted interviews to director Pierre Thoretton for the 2010 documentary “L’Amour Fou,” which chronicled his life with Saint Laurent in intimate detail.
