In support of the Nation of Japan, and the rescue and recovery efforts there, Coach has pledged to contribute a donation of 400 million yen (approximately $5 million) to the Japanese Red Cross Society, the retailer told WWD.

Jewelry designer Alexis Bittar will donate 100 percent of all sales made on his Web site next week to the Catholic Relief Services for Japan. In addition, on March 24th, 100 percent of all retail sales at Bittar's boutiques will be donated as well. This is not the jeweler's first foray into philanthropy — last year he raised $60,000 towards aid in Haiti.
