THE FASHION–ART AXIS: Now all-too familiar bedfellows art and fashion follow each another to the first bright beam of light. From Thursday to Sunday, that will be at Art Basel in Miami’s South Beach. An example of Basel’s art-fashion fraternity is avant garde Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen’s showcase for “Hybrid Holism,” the collection she showed in July at the Paris Couture. “Hybrid” will be presented on Dec. 7. Art and fashion enthusaists include Scoop NYC and LA><ART, which teamed up to launch the Alexandra Grant for Clover Canyon collection. It will be sold exclusively at Scoop NYC’s South Beach store. Grant, an L.A.-based artist collaborated with Rozae Nichols, Clover Canyon’s designer on the line, which features prints inspired by Grant’s vibrant paintings. On Thursday, Scoop plans to celebrate the collaboration with a party in its store; LA><ART, the nonprofit contemporary art space committed to experimental exhibitions and public initiatives, will be the evening’s beneficiary of 10 percent of sales.
