BLUE CLUES: Adidas Originals is starting the New Year on a blue note — the color that is. As part of its spring/summer 2011 collection, the brand is due to release its first line of denim jeans. Hitting worldwide Originals doors and department stores on Jan. 20, the line will feature two cuts for men (relaxed and slim) and two cuts for women, a skinny and boyfriend model, available in eight different washes retailing from 80 euros, or $105.

The jeans hint to Adidas’ heritage as a sneaker brand: each pair boasts a special built-in sneaker protector on its cuffs to prevent indigo dye from rubbing off on one’s lighter shaded sneakers. And an upcoming sneaker launch is also on the agenda. Adidas Originals and Diesel have collaborated on a limited-edition sneaker collection, launching in Diesel stores on Jan. 20.
