TRADING PLACES: Acne will hold its first women’s ready-to-wear catwalk show in Paris, during the upcoming season that begins Feb. 26, the brand’s creative director Jonny Johansson revealed Friday during the presentation of the label’s men’s line.
This is primarily due to Acne’s collaboration with photographer Katerina Jebb and the Musée Galliera, which involved Jebb and Johansson together selecting fashion pieces from the Paris-based museum’s archives that she then scanned. Jebb subsequently made the images into collages, which Johansson integrated into the Acne women’s wear collection and a capsule line for men, also to be presented during the Paris show.
The shift to the City of Light does not necessarily signify a definitive move from London, where Acne historically presents its women’s ready-to-wear collections, according to an Acne spokeswoman.
