ABOUT FACE: Rebecca Van Dyck, who left Apple to become global chief marketing officer of the Levi’s brand last March, is headed back to the digital domain, and in just about its hottest location, too. Van Dyck has been tapped to take the top marketing post at Facebook Inc. as it amps up for its initial public offering and a move up from its 2011 advertising budget of $28 million on $1.55 billion in revenue. Van Dyck added Levi’s “Go Forth” campaign to a résumé that already included marketing work on the iPad and iPod while at Apple and Nike’s “Just Do It” campaign while at Wieden + Kennedy. She was among the hires of Robert Hanson, who resigned as global president of the Levi’s brand in November to become chief executive officer of American Eagle Outfitters Inc. Facebook didn’t respond to requests for comment while Levi’s confirmed Van Dyck’s departure.
