Space Case: Designers Sketch Out of This World Fashion

After devoting so much space to past — not to mention largely European — interpretations of space chic, WWD thought it only fair to include the next generation of American designers. Here, fashion fit for modern moon men and women as seen by the under-40 set. Reactions ranged from pure excitement — “We love the man on the moon!” says Rodarte’s Laura Mulleavy — to sassy: Erin Fetherston says of her sketch, “I think Neil Armstrong would have been pretty excited to find this moonwalking goddess when he landed there 40 years ago.”
