The 30 MA students at the Royal College of Art in London put a spotlight on volume and texture for their graduate show of men’s and women’s fashion on Thursday. The results were varied: Marta Jakubowski’s black dress featured a shower-curtain-like attachment around the neck; Janni Vepsäläinen’s floaty gowns took their cue from Little Bo Peep, and Emma Hardstaff’s sparkling, puffy tops came wrapped in swathes of tulle. There was more streamlined, comparatively austere fare, too, in the form of Lucie Hardouin’s long silhouettes done in cobalt blue, and Louise Annis’ lean coats in primary colors with exaggerated rounded pockets or shoulders.
