Banana Republic is celebrating its 30th anniversary with snappy, classic offerings. "This collection reflects iconic separates — the crisp white shirt, indispensable black dress and timeless trench — reimagined for fall 2008," Alessandra Brunialti, vice president of women's design, stated postshow. The lineup included sheath dresses with architectural seaming, skinny pleated pants and an ode to le smoking with tuxedo-inspired looks. Brunialti opted for a neutral palette of black, gray and white, with the exception of two fuchsia cocktail dresses, which stood out in a sea of minimalism.
