The New York fall kickoff is less than four weeks away, but designers here and in Europe are continuing their pre-fall push. Michael Kors channels San Francisco for his lineup, which he says is inspired by Hitchcock's blondes. The result: city-girl looks including tweed print dresses, knee-length pencil skirts and an assortment of belted jackets. In Paris, meanwhile, Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquière also places an emphasis on tailoring, showing a collection that tends more toward traditional than his past futuristic flights of fancy.
