- FROM SYLVIE CELINE TO BODHI: Celine SA, the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned fashion firm, has reached an agreement with Jen USA for the changing of Jen USA's Sylvie Celine handbag line to BODHI. The change followed discussions between the two after LVMH had registered its objection based upon its ownership of the Celine mark. Under the terms of the agreement, the change is effective Jan. 1, 2008, both parties said Friday. Jen USA is owned by Angela W. Han, founder of U.S. backpack marketer Eastsport.
- GREEN SELLING BHS?: Sir Philip Green is said to be looking for buyers for BHS, his troubled 180-unit department store chain, in order to concentrate on Topshop, which is expanding into the U.S., according to British newspaper The Independent on Sunday, citing sources close to the retail mogul. Topshop is slated to open in Manhattan's SoHo in September, the first of a nationwide rollout to include flagships on the West Coast and units in such cities as Las Vegas, Miami and Boston. Topshop has more than 400 stores globally.
