Resort has taken on a life of its own, but designers are still giving a nod to its original purpose. For Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs glams up swimwear while keeping it sporty. Case in point: This one-piece with racy cutouts and studs, worn with a silk satin jacket.

Resort has two sides, urban and beachy, and designers offer ample options for each. At Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs' collection has a bit of both. For the city set he serves up stylish shapes in neutral colors brightened up with vibrant bags. Meanwhile, at Emanuel Ungaro, Esteban Cortazar plays to the season's more leisurely side. That means fluid silhouettes and lots of color.
