For fall, J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons looked to an artist's muse for inspiration, which translated into pieces such as bright frothy jackets with Liberty-print ruffles that had a homespun feel, as well as painterly graphic Ts. Lyons had fun with off-beat color combinations and prints in an eclectic mix that stayed true to the label's timeless ease. She also presented terrific hand-beaded jackets and dresses as part of the J. Crew Collection, the company's high-end line. The limited edition pieces have proven successful on the store's Web site, and the company should have a ready-made audience when it opens its new

J. Crew Collection store on 79th and Madison in Manhattan by late June. The store will also house J. Crew's new fine jewelry collection.
