BG Promotes Boitano, Haupt

Bergdorf Goodman promoted Joseph Boitano to executive vice president and general merchandise manager of all ready-to-wear.

NEW YORK -- Bergdorf Goodman promoted Joseph Boitano to executive vice president and general merchandise manager of all ready-to-wear, and elevated Vicki Haupt to senior vice president and general merchandise manager for accessories, footwear, cosmetics and home goods.
Both are new posts, reporting to Dawn Mello, president.


Boitano handles merchandising for all women's apparel.


He was senior vice president and general merchandise manager, overseeing better apparel, furs, lingerie and sixth-floor dresses and coats, On 5 and designer sportswear. Boitano joined Bergdorf's in 1986 as divisional merchandise manager of better dresses.


Haupt was vice president and divisional merchandise manager for home goods. She joined Bergdorf's in October 1992 in that capacity after working as senior vice president of merchandising and marketing for Conran's Habitat, which has been liquidated. Prior to that, she was with Bloomingdale's from 1979 to 1991, as operations vice president and divisional merchandise manager for decorative domestics.


Responsibilities for accessories, footwear and cosmetics had been split up among certain divisionals since Rick Rector left in March 1993 to join Calvin Klein.
