L'OREAL MOVES: L'Oreal announced that it has created
a secretary general position within the group's admini-strative and financial department.
Loic Armand, general manager of L'Oreal's business in Japan, has been put in charge of coordinating L'Oreal's holdings in Europe and of creating new holdings in other countries.
Michel Somnolet, who is vice president in charge of the general management of the group's administration and finances, oversees the secretary general.
Meanwhile, Marc Menesguen, general manager of Lancome International, is in charge of the general management of L'Oreal's affairs in Japan.
He was also named assistant managing director for Asia. Menesguen will work with Jean-Paul Agon, managing director of the Asian zone.
Fabrice Boe Dreyfus, managing director of Helena Rubinstein International, has been put in charge of the general management of Lancome International.

HAIR LINE: Everybody wants a thicker head of hair and Michael diCesare is coming to the rescue of consumers with an algae-based product called AquaBiotics Topical Hair and Scalp Treatment. DiCesare, the head hair stylist for the Late Show with David Letterman, teamed up with Foltene, the Italian pharmaceutical firm, to create the product. The product retails for $45 where diCesare products are sold.
