THE HOUSE(S) OF ARMANI: In a partnership with Dezer Development and The Related Group, Giorgio Armani will create luxurious high-end residential units, common areas and amenities as part of a new Armani/Casa Residences project in Miami expected to be completed in 2016.
Architect César Pelli, creator of the World Financial Center in New York and the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia, has designed the 60-story oceanfront tower in Sunny Isles Beach, north of Bal Harbour, with 260 luxury residences.
“Armani/Casa was born from my desire to see my design aesthetic at work in interior spaces,” said Armani, president and chief executive officer of his namesake group. “On a project like this, where we have the benefit of partnering with a talented architect like César Pelli, we get the opportunity to create something really very special — a remarkable living space, imbued with the spirit of modern elegance.”
Gil Dezer, president of Dezer Development, said, “The tower will be representative of the Armani lifestyle; it will possess distinctive luxury and unrivaled elegance, as do our other branded buildings.” Dezer Signature Brands, an entity of Dezer Development, specializes in codeveloping luxury high-rise residential and condo-hotel developments with marquee lifestyle brands, and has a master licensing agreement with Porsche Design.
Jorge M. Pérez, founder of The Related Group, said The Residences by Armani/Casa will bring “a new level of taste” to Sunny Isles Beach. The privately held group was established in 1979 and has built and managed more than 85,000 condominium and apartment residences. The firm has a development portfolio valued in excess of $15 billion.
The Maçka Residences in Istanbul; The World Towers in Mumbai, India, and the Century Spire in Manila, are among the Armani/Casa Interior Design Studio’s most recent projects.
