The knives were out when Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan unveiled her first effort as artistic adviser to Emanuel Ungaro during Paris Fashion Week—and plenty of critics plunged them in deep. But there were a few positive voices in the wilderness. Here, we chart the spectrum of professional commentary.

GOOD

“Ungaro was very Los Angeles, cool for many girls like Lindsay Lohan.” —Sarah Lerfel, Colette

NOT SO GOOD

“There were some good things to say about the show. For a start, there were not as many of the visible bras that have been out there on other catwalks. But that was because there were often no bras at all—only wardrobe malfunctions.” —Suzy Menkes, International Herald Tribune

NOT AT ALL GOOD

“There’s really no defending this misguided collection, other than as a desperate bid for attention from a house that hasn’t mattered since its founder retired in 2004.”—Booth Moore, The Los Angeles Times

OUCH

“The reviews are now in, and oh la la, they are not jolies. The collection started off okay…only to degenerate into an absolute merde-tastic mess.”—Missy Schwartz, EW.com

“Rest assured, fashion skeptic: The collection was truly, deeply horrible.”—Josh Patner, Slate
