NEW YORK — Faith Prince and Harvey Fierstein aren't the run-of-the-mill Monday morning Kleinfeld shoppers, but they were at the wedding gown store here to plug the new Broadway musical "A Catered Affair."

The bride-to-be, actress Leslie Kritzer, wore a Le Sposa di Gio short wedding dress but she has yet to choose the one she will wear in the show, which centers on the age-old question "Whose wedding is it anyway?"

Prince, who plays the mother-of-the-bride, said she told Fierstein that the West 20th Street store "has a Fifties feeling even though it's very modern."

Fierstein admitted to Kleinfeld owner Mara Urshel that he is not a fan of weddings. "I have a friend...I went to his daughter's wedding and she wore one of those big poufy dresses. She looked like a dinner bell. I wanted to pick her up and shake her and [her] feet would be the clappers."

Prince recalled her own "Ricky and Lucy wedding. I wore a Fifties-style gold suit and my husband wore a pinstripe....For a lot of people, a wedding is their opportunity to wear a big dress and have their big day. I had already had mine. I just wanted it to be my husband and myself."
