Medine and Smilovic will spend an hour styling two windows at the Lexington Avenue location of the department store on Thursday at 5 p.m. (we can assume much to the confusion of passing tourists). As can be expected, Medine will be in full on Repeller mode -- bantering with spectators on the sidewalk as she dresses the mannequins, many of which will be holding fluorescent flamingos on a leash -- a nod to how she lovingly refers to her followers: "Fancy Flamingos." The windows will be wallpapered in a mix of Tibi runway images and pictures of Medine in some of her more famous man-repelling looks.
The collaboration was one that came out of a mutual love of prints, according to Medine. "Tibi's an expert at creating really bright and unique prints, and I'm an expert at combining them all into an amalgamation of lovely confusion, so the partnership was kind of a no-brainer for me," she told WWD.
Look for pink flamingo-laden sidewalks paving the way to the ultimate man-repelling show. After the hour long styling extravaganza, the duo will be greeting fans on the store's Contemporary Floor 2 until 8 p.m.
