"There's so much negative energy in the world, especially within the blogging world," Ciara said. "They try so hard to tear you down. [With the superhero concept] it's like, 'I refuse to let you and that negative energy tear me down or stop any blessing that I know is there for me. That's when the inner superhero comes out."
She continued, "You put up this armor, and you put on this suit that is unbreakable. You can't penetrate it. It's powerful. That's also part of the inspiration for 'Super C.'â¿¿"
Ciara even credited her alter ego for her steamy performance and chemistry with Justin Timberlake in the "Love Sex Magic" video. "Super C came out on him!" she said, laughing.
And those ultrabody-con looks she wears?
"I'm a bit more confident to try things, like the one-pieces with heels. I'm doing what feels good, and I don't want anything to be forced. I promise you, if you had asked me to put on a one-piece and some heels even two years ago, I would have said, 'Oh, no way!'â¿¿"
Finally, in chatting about the cape-and-spandex set, Ciara also gave a fitting answer to that classic question of which celebrity she'd most like to dine with.
"I love the vibe and the feeling of superheroes like Batman," she said. "I think he's just so powerful, strong, sexy, everything. I would love to just go sit down and have a dinner with Batman. He's just that cute to me. And the actual suit, whoever plays him. That suit is so powerful."
