Tim Burton's eagerly awaited "Alice in Wonderland" premiered in London Thursday night, and the star studded cast swept the carpet in high style.

Mia Wasikowska, who plays Alice in the film, which hits U.S. theaters March 5, wore a floor sweeping, black and cream lace confection from Valentino's fall 2009 couture collection.

And appropriately for a film filled with English eccentrics, Vivienne Westwood dressed a number of the guests. Anne Hathaway, who plays the White Queen, wore a custom bronze bustier dress, while Helena Bonham Carter, the Red Queen, wore a frothy custom strapless frock--accessorized with a clutch embroidered with her image as the queen.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who attended with Prince Charles, also wore Westwood - but thriftily, her deep blue silk double duchess satin gown was a recycled number. The Duchess first wore the dress for a Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium in 2008.

Later, Wasikowska swapped her gown for a short black sculptural Roland Mouret number at the after party at the Sanderson hotel. The crowd, including co-stars Johnny Depp, Hathaway and Bonham-Carter, were served Jabberwocky cocktails - a potent mix of gin, maraschino liqueur, fresh mangoes and lime - served, appropriately, in china tea cups.
