Monrow Launches Classic Collection

Monrow is going back to basics with the launch of the Monrow Classic Collection for summer....

Monrow is going back to basics with the launch of the Monrow Classic Collection for summer. monrow1.jpgThe LA-based brand, founded in 2007 by friends and design duo Megan George and Michelle Wenke, started off as a series of comfy basics -- with their fleece boyfriend sweats (aptly named the Vintage pant) and tissue cotton tees quickly finding their way into celebrity weeklies via brand fans Sienna Miller, Rachel Bilson, Jessica Biel and Jenifer Garner. Since then the line has evolved into a more trend driven lineup with newer silhouettes, fabrics and wild prints.

With the new classics collection, Wenke and George are returning to what the line originally embodied, in what Wenke describes as "choose your own adventure" for buyers.

monrow2.jpg"We wanted something really easy and appealing by color, because at the end of the day every company does basics and we do basics in all these colors, so we wanted them available throughout the year to give buyers more freedom," Wenke told WWD.

Ten of the line's core styles, including the basic tissue v-neck, basic crew and tank and all of the fleece items, will be available year round in a seasonal varied range of colors that will change three times a year.

Wenke added, "We created this collection of core classics that work whenever and for whatever. Because that's how our lives are -- that's what we need in our lives."
