Long before Valentino was luring crowds to theaters with his documentary "The Last Emperor," Isaac Mizrahi hit the big screen in "Unzipped." The 1995 flick, directed by Mizrahi's then-boyfriend Douglas Keeve, follows the designer through the making of his fall 1994 collection (you may remember it as the one with all the neon faux fur).

Supermodels Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss and even a pre-Sarkozy Carla Bruni all make cameos in the film, making you realize how much or how little some of their faces have changed in the last 15 years.

On Wednesday, as part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's "Model as Muse" exhibit and the Costume Institute film series, Mizrahi joined the museum's Harold Koda and Kohle Yohannan for a brief discussion before a screening of "Unzipped." Koda immediately called out Mizrahi's pedicure ("Cantaloupe," the designer revealed) before asking him about what it was like to record his daily life. "It got addictive," he said. But it wasn't necessarily great for his and Keeve's relationship. "I remember talking to my shrink, asking is it safe if we work together," Mizrahi recalled. "[My shrink] said it might be a good thing, but in fact we broke up over the movie."
