WWD: What was your impression of the CFDA awards (in 140 characters or less)?
Jack Dorsey: I had a great night! Amazing designers all around, a look into part of the industry I've never seen, & an inspiring will to push creativity.
WWD: I heard you were invited by CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg? How do you know each other?
J.D.:Yes, I was invited by DVF and even got to sit with her at the awards. We met through Alex Von
Furstenberg.
WWD: Had you heard of the CFDA?
J.D.: Yes! I was honored to be invited. It was unexpected and appreciated.
WWD: Do you follow fashion?
J.D.: I have for some time. I was initially attracted to what Miyake was doing, and then Scott Morrison at Paper Denim and Cloth. The world opened from there.
WWD: Did you recognize some of the designers who were there? If so, who?
J.D.: I recognized Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, and Anna Sui. Then I had a lot of help from introductions. :)
WWD: Who were you most excited to meet?
J.D.: I had the opportunity to meet Blake Mycoskie from TOMS shoes. He's an inspiration. They're doing some awesome work.
WWD: What did you think of what people were wearing?
J.D.: There were some amazing dresses there, especially the red Zac Posen dress worn by Doutzen Kroes. Beautiful.
WWD: Were you tweeting during the ceremony?
J.D.: As much as I could; getting a cell phone signal in the hall was difficult, as was taking my attention off everything going on to look at my phone.
WWD: Did you go to any of the after-parties?
J.D.: We went to the party on the gorgeous High Line! The park is beautiful, especially at night. It's an amazing accomplishment in public space.
WWD: How would you describe your own style?
J.D.: Rustic elegant.
WWD: Who are your favorite designers?
J.D.: I appreciate Marc Jacobs, Miyake, and Scott Morrison from Earnest Sewn. I wish DVF would make men's clothing.
WWD: What did your friends/colleagues say when you told them you were going?
J.D.: They didn't believe me. Maybe this will convince them.
