It's the day that fashion social media addicts have been waiting for: DKNY's Twitter personality announced that she's headed to Tumblr. With a tag line "When 140 Characters Isn't Enough," fans can expect double the social media updates from DKNYPRGIRL, who promises her 346, 495 followers that she'll remain as active on Twitter as ever (even with all those new Tumblr responsibilities). WWDBlog caught up with DKNY PR GIRL to talk about the new project. dknyprgirl.jpgWWD: Why did you choose the Tumblr platform?

DKNY PR GIRL: As you may recall, under the leadership of Rich Tong, Tumblr brought some of their key bloggers to Fashion Week last February. We worked with Rich prior to the shows to create a small, unique event just for the 15 Tumblr Bloggers at the Donna Karan store introducing the new Donna Karan Infinity System (a collection of interchangeable jersey pieces). We really enjoyed meeting this group of Tumblr bloggers and were very impressed in particular with Jamie Becks' blog "From Me To You." As our followers started to ask more and more for a DKNY PR GIRL blog, it made sense to work with Tumblr to build a custom one for DKNY PR GIRL.

WWD: What can we expect from the new blog?

DKNY PR GIRL: Just like the tag line states, the blog is an opportunity to share in greater than 140 characters. Because this is DKNY PR GIRL's blog, posts can be anything from branded and behind the scenes content to personal anecdotes. It's also a great way to reblog all the amazing posts that are created daily on our brands.

For me, it's always about what's current and my stream of consciousness. Content will be about things I love and want to share with those who care to read. I will start out posting once a day and see how it goes.

WWD: Can you give us any clues about what's next for DKNYPRGirl?

DKNY PR GIRL: Runway show planning, celeb dressing, Editorial, Twitter and Tumblr for starters. We have some exciting projects coming up and when the time comes, you can bet you will read about them in 140 characters or less.
