Daryl K, the contemporary streetwear line known for its cool, casual, understated approach to women's wear, is launching a line of accessories for spring 2011.
Though designer Daryl Kerrigan had created a few custom shoes and bags for previous collections -- and also sold various accessories by other designers in her boutique at 21 Bond Street -- this is the first official launch of a line that will continue to expand and update every fashion season.
"In the current marketplace, I really saw a need for a type of shoe and bag I felt women would want to wear everyday," said Kerrigan. "With my return to the runway this season, I felt it was a good time to introduce my own accessory line."
The line includes two utilitarian leather bags and two pairs of ankle boots offered in various color and leather options, as well as a few unique editions offered in-store only.
"For the Shackleton bag, I sought [to invoke] the endurance and [spirit] of the great explorer Ernest Shackleton; something that will last the journey and won't look worse for the wear. For the Kerrigan Cowgirl boot, I wanted to have that fits-like-a-kid-glove feel, but with tough as nails walkability," she said.
The accessories, which are sure to be a hit with Daryl K's cult following, are available now in store and online at www.darylk.com.
