It seems artists couldn't have picked a better venue for their work: Thanks to the gallery's 2,100 square feet of white walls, their glossy canvases, coated in citrine, fuschia and cobalt blue, really pop.
While the two women share a penchant for bold color palettes and clean graphic lines, their sources for inspiration are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Despite having studied Fine Art at London's prestigious Chelsea College of Art and Design, Soni takes cues from a rather unsophisticated source--her toddler daughter. "I started to look at her scribbles and they struck me as these pure, expressive marks," says the artist, who traces the doodles first before eventually enlarging them and adding color. "I steal from her, basically."
