Carey Mulligan made her way to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday to accept a Chopin Virtuoso Award with fellow honorees Emily Blunt, Saoirse Ronan and "A Serious Man" star Michael Stuhlbarg. Each actor took to the stage at the Lobero Theatre, perched in a director's chair to answer questions from the audience. "Someone said this is a bit like Telluride [Film Festival] tonight. It's not big glamour and scary," said Mulligan. "It's real people who are interested in film."
But that didn't stop the Oscar nominee from getting gussied up in a pretty Prada frock from the spring collection (the house also designed one of the floral dresses she wore in "An Education"). "It's pink and easy. I love everything that Prada puts me in," said Mulligan of the dress, which was a refreshing change from the heavier blacks, navies, reds and browns she's been sporting so far this award season. As for the big day on March 7, "I haven't picked an Oscar dress yet. I haven't even started to prepare," Mulligan said. "But I bawled when I heard [I was nominated]."
