The New York-based designer whose line of intricate body jewelry has adorned the likes of Mila Kunis, Beyonce, Blake Lively and more since 2007, has collaborated on an exclusive collection for trendy Parisian boutique chain The Kooples, to launch today. Kooples210.jpg The collection comprises two unisex body chains using brass and leather elements: the Hugmetight chain, featuring The Kooples signature skull head rivet, and the Bed of Roses chain.

"One of the reasons we chose the Hugmetight is the unisex element," explained designer Bliss Lau. "The Kooples has a genderlessness to their collections, with women's suits that match the men's. The Hugmetight makes perfect sense because it's named after an old term for a sweater vest and, in essence, the design traces lines of the vest on the body."

"Kooples called me out of the blue," Lau continued, on how the collaboration came about. "[Founder] Laurent [Elicha's] wife had seen my chains in Italian Vogue and bought one from my Web site. Each time she wore it he liked it more and more, and they decided to give me a call and offer the collaboration."
