Anna Sheffield, the New York-based designer of Bing Bang jewelry, and global streetwear brand WeSC have collaborated on a line of accessories to launch for fall.
"The way WeSC works as a company is that they're very community driven -- and I like to think I'm the same," said Sheffield. "I was introduced to them by a couple of people that we have in common, one of whom is Tony Arcabascio, founder and creative director of A.Life. I stopped into his office and he said, 'you know, you should talk to [WeSC] about doing headphones for them.'"
The rest was history.
Sheffield's eleven-piece collection for the brand includes necklaces, bracelets and a two-finger ring in various mixed metals, as well as a pair of gold-plated, heart-shaped headphones. Pendants in the shape of anchors, hearts and knives come emblazoned with words like "forever," "til death," and "baby bitch," fusing Bing Bang's signature cheekiness with WeSC's streetwear appeal for a vibe that's both sweet and salty -- and also unisex.
"[WeSC] really gave me free rein," said Sheffield. "I looked at their brand and ran with my own Bing Bang take on it. We wanted it to feel very New York. I ended up designing the jewelry in a way that was based on the city and New York architecture."
The collection, which ranges from $80 to $110, is slated to hit stores this summer.
