Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta with Kirsty Hume in Marc by Marc Jacobs
Interested in buying Shalom Harlow’s castoff khaki jacket, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Prada suit or a pair of Kirsty Hume’s well-worn legwarmers? Shoppers who attended Model Citizen, a celebrity and designer tag sale that raised almost $20,000 for the International Fund for Animal Welfare, found these items and many other star-dusted bargains, as they sifted through racks of merchandise at Sunday’s event held at Hudson Studios.

Hosts Amber Valletta, Hume and Harlow donated many of the items for sale. As it turned out, none could resist doing a little shopping. Valletta bought back her own black vintage dress, and Harlow bid on a Zac Posen in the silent auction.

“It’s a win-win situation,” said Hume. “We’re happy, the shoppers are happy and the animals are happy.” Valletta, nodding in agreement, added, “Still, it’s a trip to see someone holding up your skirt or your shoes.”

Harlow admitted the most personal item she donated was a pair of red Versace heels. “They were my naughty bedroom shoes,” she says. “I got into so much mischief in them and now I’m ready to say goodbye.”

Meanwhile, in London, Bare boutique owners Daisy Morrison and Tina Ferguson hosted their own fashion extravaganza — The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe fashion show and auction, which raised $16,500 for Cancer Research U.K. For the guests, miniskirts were de rigueur, as were fitted summery dresses. Actress Kelly Brook arrived in a red and white Betsey Johnson ensemble. “It accentuates every curve,” she boasted.
