ON THE MEND: On Sunday night, the Duchess of Cambridge made her first public appearance since leaving the King Edward VII hospital in London on Dec. 6, after being treated for hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of extreme morning sickness.
Kate wore a dark green Alexander McQueen gown to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, where she presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Olympics organizer Lord Sebastian Coe, the Sports Personality of the Year Award to cyclist Bradley Wiggins and the runners-up prize to track-and-field athlete Jessica Ennis. Kate remained onstage during Coe’s speech and shared a joke with David Beckham.
She attended the ceremony as part of her role as an official ambassador of Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic teams. Afterward, Middleton met some of 2012’s outstanding sports personalities backstage, where she told presenter Gary Lineker that she was feeling “very well.”
