How Swede It Is * Calorie Counting Crowe * Gisele’s New Act

Dimpled, darling Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden —she will one day be queen — is coming to New York and the trustees and president of the American-Scandinavian Foundation are giving a special reception for her on Friday at Scandinavia House on Park Avenue. The reception also will preview the exhibition "Expression by Design," which will convey the brilliance of Swedish folk painting from Dalarna and Smaland. The princess is very good at receptions and exhibitions. Already, she has the presence of a queen.

Nancy and Henry Kissinger will make a rare appearance in the front row at the Maggie Norris couture fall collection on April 8 at the Russian Consulate in New York. Henry will be there to support his friend Natalia Darialova, one of the leading female journalists in Moscow, who has created a fragrance called Russian Nights, in which the models will be enveloped. Maggie has dressed Hollywood’s best including Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry and Naomi Watts, as well as Christopher Walken’s wife, Georgianne, who is the casting director of "The Sopranos." Maggie made her a beautiful chocolate-colored chiffon evening suit and fitted satin jacket, which she wore to the Oscars on Sunday.

The models at the consulate also will be draped in sables by Russian designer Helen Yarmak. Kip Forbes, who, along with his brothers, inherited a glorious collection of Fabergé eggs from his father, Malcolm Forbes, has given the designer permission to replicate the ornamentation of the Imperial Rosebud Eggs created by Fabergé and presented by Czar Nicholas II to Czarina Alexandra for Easter in 1895 on the corset of a dress. This will be auctioned off along with a Russian red fox evening stole to benefit the American Friends of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.

Among those expected to join the Kissingers in the front row are Lila Forbes; Bettina Zilkha; Kimberly, Tara and Renée Rockefeller; Lorraine Bracco; Karenna Gore Schiff and Alexandra von Furstenberg. Kruto!

From Milan and Sydney comes word that Russell Crowe has put himself on a strict diet after visiting Giorgio Armani at his atelier to be fitted for the suit he plans to wear for his wedding to Danielle Spencer on April 7 in Australia. The designer told him that he needed to lose 15 pounds if he wanted to look his best on his big day. Giorgio says, "Russell is simpatico and has a very strong personality. We first met on the set of ‘Gladiator’ in Rome when he was in great shape. Since then, he has had some bad experiences in fashion because he’s overweight." How’s that for Italian candor?
