Pratt’s Legends dinner honored Marc Jacobs, Patti Smith and David Rockwell. “I dreamed of going to Pratt, but I was too erratic of a student to get a scholarship,” said Smith. Jacobs wasn’t a Pratt student either. (“I did go to another art school — not a bad art school, just not this one,” he said.) But that didn’t deter him from sharing his award with Pratt students, referring to them as “the future leaders of art and design.”
