It goes without saying that a couture client like Denise Hale is beyond shopping her closet these days.
At Bulgari's opening party in San Francisco on Tuesday, Hale proudly waved a super-sized diamond-encrusted bracelet. “I went downtown to the bank vault especially so that I could wear it tonight,” she said. The piece, custom made for her by Giorgio Bulgari, had been an engagement present received in Rome, when she was 19.
Elsewhere at the fete, guests including mayor Gavin Newsom, Wilkes Bashford, Vanessa Getty, Alexis Traina, OJ Shansby, Maria Manetti Farrow, Tatiana Sorokko, Marissa Mayer, and Juliet de Baubigny admired the vitrines filled with gems.
