The do-gooder set flocked to Ralph Lauren’s SoHo outpost Wednesday night where a double bill cocktail party-shopping excursion benefited UNICEF’s relief efforts in Haiti. David Lauren, a member of the fund’s Next Generation Steering Committee, didn’t miss a beat as a crashing wine glass interrupted his welcome speech.

“That’s good luck,” Lauren said.

“That’s just pure idiocy,” replied a smiling Dan Abrams, who copped to breaking the glass.

Partygoers including Lauren Bush, Dylan Lauren, Andrew Rosen and Mark Seliger mingled among the store’s shelves of preppy wares and Olympic-ready uniforms.

One-time first daughter Barbara Bush, another committee member, took a break to explain how the group has been getting its target demographic of twenty- and thirtysomethings to flex their philanthropic might.

“We’ve been focused on doing fundraisers that are compelling to our age group at price points that are compelling to our age group,” she said.

Of course, the call for relief in Haiti has also marked something of a return to the public sphere for her father, who has been soliciting aid for the country.

“I would give him very high marks,” Bush said of her dad’s efforts. “I’m very proud.”
