Art met fashion again on Monday night at Colette, where Rodarte’s Mulleavy sisters curated an exhibition. “I like the rag dolls. Everything here represents elements of our interior world,” said Kate Mulleavy.
“These are fantastic,” said Dasha Zhukova of the works on display, which included Annakim Violette’s bat paintings. “I’m working on a movie about a surreal vampire,” Violette said.
Photographer Autumn de Wilde said she completed her second book, called “Under Great White Northern Lights,” which documents The White Stripes’ tour of Canada. “We shot in such remote areas that had never had concerts before,” de Wilde said, adding the book would launch simultaneously with the documentary film of the same name before the end of the year. Also there were Clémence Poésy, Michael Stipe, Dree Hemingway, Iekeliene Stange, Tallulah Harlech, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, Alexandre de Betak and Nicholas Kirkwood, who listened to electro-orchestra duo Something A La Mode, with Yanick Grandjean on cello and Thomas Roussel on violin. Karl Lagerfeld collaborated with the musicians on their first album, which launches in November in France and early next year internationally, voicing over “La musique et la mode, c’est identique,” among other phrases, on one track.
