"Am I on time?" asked Hollywood legend Robert Evans upon arriving an hour late to his own party at Barneys New York Thursday night to toast his film, "The Kid Stays In the Picture." "An hour’s perfect," pooh-poohed Evans, "I need to make my entrance."

Stiletto-clad guests at the party, cohosted by Malo, were required to valet in the back and (gasp!) walk around to the storefront so they could admire Simon Doonan’s window display, a tribute to the producer. (Earlier in the day, Evans threatened to boycott the party if guests didn’t check out Doonan’s handiwork.)

"He combines dandy-ism with braggadocio, swagger and style," declared Doonan, who filled the windows with Evans’ personal effects like scripts, photographs, a Golden Globe award and sunglasses. "And he’s emptied his house into our windows. I think I’m going to have a yard sale later."

As the supertanned Evans made his way through the crowd in his signature bespoke suit and custom shades, Brooke Shields gave him a huge bear hug.

"I’m lucky to be around as long as I have, but I’ve got nothing on Bob," she said.

"I’ve never worked with him," gushed onlooker Tracee Ellis Ross. "I just came to see him."

Of course, Evans was energized with the turnout of Pretty Young Things, but he especially relished the old-school feeling of the evening.

"Tonight reminds me of the Hollywood of old," he said. "There are people here tonight I thought were dead."

On Tuesday, Alison Eastwood threw a Western-style launch party for her clothing line, Eastwood Ranch, at Chadwick restaurant. Denim was the dress code and her guests were happy to oblige.

"I think I’m the only girl in L.A. who doesn’t own a pair of Seven jeans," said Eastwood, who was wearing a pair she designed. "Mine look great on me, thank God."
