Ensconced at the Museum of Natural History for the Atlantic party were Danny Glover, Garry Shandling, Dwight Yoakam, Neil Young, Snoop Doggy Dog and award-winning producer David Foster. Foster confessed to pre-award jitters, even though "The Bodyguard" was favored to win.

"I knew Whitney was on a roll and sometimes it carries on, but sometimes it runs out of steam," he said.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani chatted with Foster for more than an hour, skipping some of the other parties he'd planned to attend.

The night before, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and husband Bobby Brown, Iman, Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson, and Carly Simon were all at Clive Davis's party at The Plaza.
