"Grammy fever" seemed merely tepid during the poorly produced show Tuesday night, but the parties surrounding the awards lived up to the hype. Record biz revelers played musical chairs all over town, creating "limo lock" on the streets of New York.

Michael Keaton skipped the ceremonies ("I didn't go. I don't really keep up with it, I don't care and I find the show the most boring I've ever seen.") but turned up at the swinging MCA/Geffen party at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Keaton joined Joe Perry, Steve Tyler and the other members of Aerosmith, Patti La Belle, Gladys Knight, Natalie Cole -- natty in a Richard Tyler pinstriped suit -- Jody Watley, Danny Bonaduce -- who scalped his tickets to the show for $100 and "went drinking" -- and Meat Loaf, who found out he'd won a Grammy while he was backstage at the David Letterman show.

"It think I appreciate it more now than I would have then," Meat Loaf said, a reference to the 15 years that have passed since his first hit, "Bat Out of Hell."

Liza Minnelli also turned up at the Four Seasons after whipping through the EMI party at the Museum of Modern Art.

It was at MOMA that Boy George, all done up in mismatched plaids by Moschino and Vivienne Westwood, met Minnelli, which sent him more over the top than usual.

"Forget me!" he kept telling reporters. "She's the real star!"

Three floors of the museum were crawling with musicians, actors and socials -- although not all of them got up to the third floor VIP area where a diligent security guard turned away even Juliette Lewis and her entourage.

Frank Sinatra weaved in and out, but Tony Bennett and Bonnie Raitt stayed for hours. Bennett made his way over after holding court at the Polygram party in the Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center. Howard Stern was also there, taping a broadcast, and Vanessa Williams and Aaron Neville hung out at nearby corner tables. Bono and his wife, Ali, later joined the party after being brought up on the service elevator.
