As the rush to Oscar Sunday marches onward in Tinseltown, jewelers were the latest to toast the actress Lupita Nyong’o, this season’s red carpet All-Star and a nominee for “12 Years a Slave.”


LoveGold, which represents jewelry brands like Pamela Love, threw a party for the actress inside the Chateau Marmont’s Selma House that drew Sarah Paulson, Jessica Szohr, Molly Sims and Bella Thorne. “It’s all a first,” Nyong’o said about her recent whirlwind rise to fame. “It’s been everything. It’s been long enough for me to go through the excitement and the overwhelm, and then back to the excitement and the overwhelm again,” she laughed. Nyong’o (who was accompanied by her mother) wore a Stella McCartney dress with Christian Louboutin heels, and said that when it comes to fashion she always chooses comfort over style. “I don’t like to suffer,” she noted. Nyong’o’s latest film, “Non-Stop,” costarring Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson, hits theaters Friday, but as for her future plans, the actress was coy. “I don’t know what’s coming next,” she said
