Everyone's favorite principessa, Claudia Ruspoli, and Laura Moltedo of the leather goods company Bottega Veneta threw a party in London the other night, all to celebrate the opening of a Bottega Veneta shop in Harvey Nichols. They couldn't have picked a better time -- everyone seemed to have either just come back or was about to leave.

Decorator Nina Campbell had just returned from a lecture tour of Australia, where she didn't know what to say, exactly. "I didn't know beforehand whether to speak English English or American English," she said. "Luckily they understood me."

Kimberly Duross was talking to friends about trying to sell her short movie in Cannes, and painter Emma Sergeant recounted her four-week visit to Egypt looking for inspiration.

"You have to suffer because that's the only way to be inspired," she said. "But then I come to something like this and everyone says, 'Oh, sure -- you really have a tough life."' Isabel Goldsmith was suffering with the wet, cold English spring: "I keep trying to bring the warm weather with me to England -- I pray, light candles and do crystals. But it's no use."
