The West Coast socials geared up for National Breast Cancer Awareness month with a pair of luncheons.

LOS ANGELES — The West Coast socials honored National Breast Cancer Month with a pair of luncheons this week — Monday's Ford's "Get Tied to the Cause" affair and Tuesday's "Louis Vuitton United Cancer Front" benefit. Melissa Etheridge, a breast cancer survivor, brought the crowd — which included Jessica Capshaw, Lisa Kudrow, Rachel Griffiths and a pregnant Crystal Lourd — to its feet at the Hotel Bel-Air when she accepted the inaugural Linda Mancuso Spirit of Life award. Lilly Tartikoff managed the same feat the following day as she welcomed Winona Ryder, Maria Bello and Venus and Serena Williams, among others, to her sisal-covered tennis court. The attire, of course, called for something more formal than what the elder Williams sister was used to. "I've got my heels on today," she said, "and I'm already quite tall without the extra four inches."

Another party-hopping contingent — Usher, Mariah Carey, Adrien Brody, Tara Reid and Paris Hilton — headed to Nevada this weekend for the grand opening of Tao Las Vegas, a $20 million restaurant and lounge in the Venetian Hotel. Wilmer Valderrama wanted to get there so badly he left early from his friend Ashton Kutcher's wedding to Demi Moore, but nothing could rival the amusing pairing of Reid and Hilton with Alexandra von Furstenberg, who posed for photos together. Talk about the blonde leading the blonde.
