For one brief, neon-bright moment, one of the oldest towns on the Thames lit up like Las Vegas. Selfridges’ Vegas Supernova kickoff dinner last Wednesday night had it all — Pamela Anderson as the celebrity guest, a little white wedding chapel, Kobe beef burgers and the Vegas girl band, Pussycat Dolls. “I want to be one of them, but it’s too late for me,” lamented Allegra Hicks after watching the Barbie-like beauties perform after dinner in their signature fishnet tights, garter belts and corsets.

“I find them all very intriguing,” mused Bryan Ferry. Will they be his next backup singers? “I’m keeping my options open,” he demurred. Guests at the party hosted by Alannah Weston and her parents, Galen and Hilary Weston, included Pia Getty, Brooke and Emilio de Ocampo, David LaChapelle, Jasmine Guinness, David and Serena Linley, Lawrence Stroll, Theo and Louise Fennell, Solange Azagury Partridge, Saffron Aldridge and Dan MacMillan.

The night before, Diego Della Valle swooped into London and hosted a dinner at San Lorenzo in honor of his pal Dante Ferretti’s new book, “The Art of Production Design.” Guests included Brooke Shields, Bob Geldof, Daphne Guinness, Flavio Briatore, Stephen Frears, Giles Deacon and Jefferson Hack.
