Much is being made of Gloria Vanderbilt's prurient new book "Obsession: An Erotic Tale." But at a party she hosted for the author at her Meatpacking District store Wednesday night, Diane von Furstenberg said that the hype was not unjustified.
"It’s very, very, very, very erotic," von Furstenberg said, slowly emphasizing each "very." "I was actually floored. It truly reminded me of when I was a little girl and I read the “Story of O,” which is a book that I adored. ["Obsession"] is not a book for guys. It's very much of a woman’s fantasy, but it’s brilliant." The designer may have been surprised by just how much sex was in the tome, but it takes more than a little titillation to embarrass her. "No," she said, "I don’t blush."
