As the manic week hit its midway point, every major hotspot in town was crammed with fashion devotees.

The evening more or less ended at avant-guarde fashion magazine Purple Magazine's party at the Beatrice Inn. It was a creaky bar on a side street in Greenwich Village and the ceilings were barely 6 feet from the floor.

Among those seen gadding about were Helmut Lang, Juergen Teller, an Olsen twin - "I know it's one of them," the event's publicist said, less than helpfully - and Cynthia Rowley, who was on a little break from putting together her Thursday show. "Do I look like I don't have a care in the world?" she said. "I just left the staff with Pizza. But my studio's only two blocks away. What's one glass of wine?"
