The film will span from the Sixties to the Nineties, and expect to see original period pieces from Gucci's archives. "I have spoken to all of the family members except for Patricia because I want to make sure we make an authentic movie," said Facio. "Of course, everyone wants to tell it from their point of view."
Hayek, meanwhile, showed off photos on her BlackBerry of her four-month-old daughter Valentina by Gucci Group owner François-Henri Pinault. "She has such a personality," said Hayek, imitating her daughter's laugh.
The tot is certainly off to a fashionable start — Castillo designed a tiny pair of shoes for her. "She's not big enough to wear them yet, but maybe in a month," said Hayek. After dinner Vanessa Williams and Eva Chow set out to the new Sergio Rossi store across the street for some late-night shopping. "I'm going to get into a lot of trouble," said Chow.
Across the country the same night, the party season returned with a vengeance when Chanel hosted a dinner for 300 in the renovated ballroom of The Plaza. Every social worth her standing turned out, as did a handful of TV actresses (whose time has really been freed up with the writers' strike), for the glittering affair celebrating Coco Chanel's affection for diamonds.
But the star of the evening — outside of the fine jewelry on display — was the restored ballroom, adorned for the evening by party planner Bronson van Wyck. "Frank Sinatra used to get down in there," said Erin Wasson excitedly.
