FULLY BOOKED: Friends have made sure that the Duchess of Devonshire — Debo to those in the know — is having an action-packed trip to New York to launch her new book, "Counting My Chickens." On Tuesday night, Oscar and Annette de la Renta and Jayne Wrightsman threw a cocktail party at the Morgan Library in her honor, and on Wednesday Barbara Walters invited well-wishers to a lunch in the middle of the Four Seasons grill room, where the Duchess was happily surrounded by power players. At her own table were the de la Rentas, Wrightsman, Anna Wintour, Jamie Niven and Charlie Gibson, while Gov. George Pataki — who stopped by to pay his regards — lunched nearby, as did Ted Warner, Richard Parsons and Edgar Bronfman Sr.
Meanwhile, Bronfman’s least favorite media mogul, Jean-Marie Messier, could be found a few blocks away at La Grenouille, where the lunch crowd included Sid and Mercedes Bass and John Richardson.
