SHO TIME: For her wedding this weekend to Martin Gruss’ hunky son, Josh Gruss, Shoshanna Lonstein left the designing up to Reem Acra, whose dress she will wear for her walk down the aisle. But the bride-to-be did design her bridesmaids’ pale pink Shoshanna dresses, and enlisted Holly Dunlap of Hollywould shoes to outfit their feet in custom-made heels — the "Shoshanna Joy" shoe.
The happy couple won’t be gallivanting off on a honeymoon just yet, as Gruss, a Coast Guard Reserve member, will remain on call for active duty.
FACE TIME: Some familiar faces will come face-to-face with the familiar faces appearing in Anh Duong’s new portraits hanging in a show opening at the Dolce & Gabbana boutique on Madison. Duong’s recently completed works include portraits of Simon de Pury; Aby Rosen; Elizabeth Lindemann; Carol McFadden’s daughter, Georgiana Moreton; Anne McNally’s daughter, Jessica McNally, and Anna Wintour’s daughter, Bee Shaffer.
Last week, Domenico Dolce himself made his way to Duong’s studio to have his likeness immortalized on an 8-by-6-foot canvas. Although the designer had asked Duong to work from a photo, the artist, who walked on the Dolce & Gabbana runway in her modeling days, insisted he come in person. "People who are very busy and successful are hard to catch," said Duong. "But when they pose, they are very focused. People who say ‘yes’ quickly move around a lot." According to Duong, Dolce was a great model, and Stefano Gabbana will visit the studio for a portrait of his own sometime soon.
