It looks like Henry Kravis has found himself a new apartment in New York. Highly reliable sources report the financier/media mogul has bid $15 million for the triplex penthouse at 625 Park Ave. that now belongs to Princess Ashraf Pahlavi, the twin sister of the late Shah of Iran. The Princess had been seeking $20 million for the 20-room flat, sources indicated.

The apartment, which boasts a ballroom, a games room, an enormous terrace and four or five bedrooms, belonged to Revlon founder Charles Revson before the Princess. Revson bought it from the estate of Helena Rubenstein, who had lived in it for many years. In fact, Rubenstein had initially been turned down for the apartment, so she did what any good cosmetics queen would do: She bought the entire building. Kravis and his new wife, Marie-JosÄe Drouin, are not expected to be turned down, though the couple has not received co-op board approval.

Kravis already has a massive apartment further up Park Avenue in what many would consider a much better building, but he is said to be looking for something roomier and less associated with his ex-wife, Carolyne Roehm. They divorced last year.
